Where’s my refund – Indiana?
To check the status of your Indiana state refund online, go to https://www.in.gov/dor/individual-income-taxes/check-the-status-of-your-refund/
In order to view status information, you will be prompted to enter:
- Social Security number
- Refund amount on your return
- Tax year
Then, click on “Check Status” to view your refund status.
You may also call the Indiana Department of Revenue’s automated information line at 1-317-233-4018.
You must have your Social Security number and the exact dollar amount (don’t include cents) of your refund. Please allow two to three weeks of return processing time before calling.
If you have any unanswered questions regarding your tax return after calling the automated line, you can contact the Department of Revenue at 1-317-232-2240, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m EST.
Generally, if your return was filled out correctly, you should receive your refund within 10 to 14 days if you filed electronically, or 10 to 12 weeks if you filed by paper.
What can cause a delay in my Indiana refund?
- If the department needs to verify information reported on your return or request additional information, the process will take longer.
- Math errors in your return or other adjustments.
- You used more than one form type to complete your return.
- Your return was missing information or incomplete.
