Local H&R Block franchisee elected to national council
H&R Block taps Kingsley tax professional for advisor post
Tony Temple, franchise owner of the Kingsley H&R Block, was elected to the H&R Block Franchise Leadership Council (FLC), a representative group of small business owners from across the country who serve as liaisons between the more than 1,000 H&R Block franchisees and corporate leadership.
This month, H&R Block franchisee Temple begins his term as FLC chair. He will foster constructive, open and two-way communications between the franchisee community and the management of H&R Block. He served last year as the FLC vice chair, his three-year term will include a year as past chair. FLC members must contribute to the growth and development of their business, employees and community.
“We have a robust Franchise Leadership Council that works with us on a year-round basis to review strategic options and business initiatives,” said Bob Moretti, H&R Block vice president. “H&R Block FLC members represent the highest level of franchisee leadership. I am honored to welcome Tony to his new role with the Franchise Leadership Council.”
Temple will travel to H&R Block’s world headquarters, Kansas City, Missouri in May for the first quarterly on-site meeting. He is also slated to participate in a summer listening tour where he’ll meet with fellow franchisees and share ideas that can grow business. He’ll also meet with franchisees at the national convention this fall.
In October 2017, Temple won recognition as a successful franchisee by H&R Block as a featured franchisee of the year. In addition to leading top-performing franchisees, he was recognized for a demonstrated commitment to H&R Block’s core value to do the right thing. Temple and his staff of tax preparers filed more tax returns than any other H&R Block office in that tax season, making it the busiest H&R Block office in the world for tax season 2017. His office used H&R Block Tax Pro Review, an H&R Block product giving do-it-yourself clients the opportunity to have a tax professional review their tax return remotely before submitting it to the IRS, with no office visit required.
Temple became a franchise owner in 2005 and currently employs 26 employees including tax professionals and client service professionals. Year round, his office provides tax preparation and audit support. Temple is a senior tax analyst and serves as school board president and as board treasurer for the Rock of Kingsley, a youth organization. He also matches his staff’s fundraising efforts and last year donated an additional $5,000 to St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
