H&R Block

Marge Connor had a suggestion from a friend to take the Tax Preparation Course at H&R Block to become a tax pro 55-years ago, and her career is still going strong. In Sacramento, California, Marge is famous for her year-round advice as a Block Advisors tax pro, assisting freelancers, contractors and small business owners in her community. She became a Certified Acceptance Agent to help those who don’t qualify for a Social Security Number, but still need a Taxpayer Identification Number to make sure everyone is taken care of.

“I have some clients that have been with me for more than 40 years. I answer their tax questions, and I actually get to know them and their families. After so many years, they trust me, because they know I keep up on my education. They feel comfortable enough to refer others to me,” Connor said.

Clients will vouch for her tax knowledge and care, but she also has the accolades to back her up. She earned a Henry W. Bloch Excellence in Client Service Award in 2019 for helping clients navigate tax situations.

Outside of helping clients, she uses her experience to teach members of her community to be tax professionals themselves. She is highly regarded and sought after as an instructor for tax courses. Her expertise includes investments, real estate, charitable giving, ITIN, foreign income, retirement, multi-state income, farming, clergy, and more.

One of Connor’s biggest inspirations is working for a forward-thinking and innovative company, specifically noting H&R Block’s purpose: To provide help and inspire confidence in our clients and communities everywhere.

“I am working for a name brand that really cares,” Connor said. “Clients will get the best results from the bottom line of their tax return regardless of if they owe. They will trust you because of H&R Block.”

As for Marge’s biggest tax tip of 2022?

“Many taxpayers in my community are unaware they need to make payments on retirements funds they withdrew during the pandemic. I’m here to help clients navigate establishing estimated payments or adjusting wages to save them the surprise when filing. As long as you’re in an H&R Block office, you’re taken care of.”
