This means 4,000 winners will be selected in the next four days to receive a total of $4 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have succeeded in putting the \u2018fun\u2019 in Refund Season,\u201d said Kathy Collins, H&amp;R Block\u2019s chief marketing officer. \u201cThe excitement of celebrating with our winning clients gives our offices energy. We\u2019ve seen the good the $1,000 on top of their refunds has done for our winners. We have been amazed at how the local communities have embraced this event. It feels fitting that the sweepstakes ends right after Valentine\u2019s Day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the daily drawings wrap up, there was plenty to celebrate this past month for our winners including life-saving medical needs, the birth of a child, reuniting with loved ones and of course vacations, good meals and plenty of electronics. Here\u2019s snapshot of the past month of winners.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Winner statistics: most popular first name is Michael, most popular last name is Smith, the median age is 36 and state with the most winners is California<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>Four winners have the last name \u201cValentine,\u201d two have \u201cheart\u201d in their last name and 24 have \u201clove\u201d in their last name<\/li>\n<li>There were 97 winners in Springfield in Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, South Carolina and Virginia \u2013 giving rise to the thought that Springfield should be changed to \u201cGreenfield.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-24469 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/hrbcomlnp.hrblock.com\/tax-center\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/1000-1000winnercollage.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"377\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hrbcomlnp.hrblock.com\/tax-center\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/1000-1000winnercollage.jpg 630w, https:\/\/hrbcomlnp.hrblock.com\/tax-center\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/1000-1000winnercollage-300x180.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Four days remain to enter sweepstakes<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The federal filing deadline isn\u2019t until April 18 this year, but time is running out for taxpayers to win $1,000 in the&nbsp;1,000 Win $1,000 Daily Sweepstakes.<\/p>\n<p>H&amp;R Block is giving away $1,000 to 1,000 winners for 32 days, for a total of $32 million. Anyone who files their taxes in a participating H&amp;R Block office by Feb. 15 can be automatically entered into the sweepstakes.
