If so, we can walk you through the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-steps-to-change-your-bank-account-and-routing-number-for-your-tax-refund\"><strong>Steps to Change Your Bank Account and Routing Number for Your Tax Refund<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If necessary, you can change a wrong bank account and routing number for a tax refund. However, the process is different depending on whether or not you\u2019ve successfully filed your return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you haven\u2019t yet filed your return, or if the IRS rejected your return<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go to the <strong>File<\/strong> section of the H&amp;R Block Online product.<\/li><li>Choose how you want to file.<\/li><li>Choose <strong>Direct Deposit<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>When prompted, enter your routing number and account number. Re-enter the same information to confirm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you\u2019ve already filed your return<\/strong>, you can review your direct deposit information on a copy of your return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the IRS has accepted your return already, you won\u2019t be able to change your bank and routing number for your tax refund. You can only request that the IRS issue you a check \u2013 and that\u2019s only if the return has not yet been processed. &nbsp;If you don\u2019t contact the IRS, they\u2019ll first try to send your refund to the bank account and routing number listed in the return.
