With H&R Block, you can file an amended tax return online. Once you\u2019ve been notified by the IRS that they have received and accepted your original return for 2025, then you can amend your tax return online. If you filed your 2025 return with our online program, you can prepare an amended return with us. If you’re using our free program, you’ll need to upgrade to a different program, if you want to e-file your amended return.<\/p>\n

Keep in mind that this won\u2019t change your existing return. It\u2019ll create an amendment to it by adding new data.<\/p>\n

To file an amended return online:<\/p>\n

  1. Go to the Overview<\/strong> of the H&R Block Online product.<\/li>\n
  2. Choose the option to file an amended return. (This will be visible only after you e-file your original return, and it\u2019s been accepted by the IRS.)<\/li>\n
  3. Follow the steps on the screen to amend the return.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Completing Your Amended Tax Return Online<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    After you finish making an amendment to your online tax return, you can e-file it. Remember to include copies of any schedules that have changed and any forms you didn\u2019t include in your original return.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
