If you\u2019re claiming itemized deductions (vs. using the standard deduction), you\u2019ll need to know the value of everything that you\u2019re eligible to deduct. For charitable deductions, we make it easy for you. <\/span>H&R Block\u2019s DeductionPro <\/span>is an easy, accurate way to place a value on used clothing and household goods. Just choose the condition and quantity for each item, and <\/span>DeductionPro <\/span>will provide a value based on up-to-date thrift shop prices. <\/span><\/p>\n

How Do I Use <\/span>H&R Block\u2019s DeductionPro<\/span>?<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

To use DeductionPro in the Deluxe, Premium, or Self-Employed product:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Go to the Charitable Donation\u00a0<\/strong>topic under Adjustments and Deductions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Choose Add Donation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Enter the information about your donation(s).<\/li>\n
  4. Choose Enter and Value Items\u00a0<\/strong>to go to the DeductionPro tool.<\/li>\n
  5. Choose the links to find the correct item type.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Once you\u2019ve found the type, enter the quantity of items in each field that corresponds to it. When done, go back to Categories<\/strong>. Do this for all items you donated.<\/p>\n

    Once you\u2019ve entered all the items, choose\u00a0Save and Close<\/strong>. DeductionPro will calculate the total of all your items and enter it into your return.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
